Battle Royale is a multi-panel series on hardwood panels built up with a dense sculptural texture made with Royale toilet paper mache and topped with layers of oil paint.
The materials charge the satire inherent in the pieces to give a sarcastic element to the expression. Each unique panel is composed with Royale toilet paper soaked in clear coat and dry brushed with thick oil paint establishing a rich sculptural texture on hard wood panels measuring 5"X7" each. The piece has a formal beauty composed of rich texture and colour which camouflages the satirical sarcasm the title implies which is the play on word phrases: "Battle Royale" and "Battling the Bullshit."
